COURSES
Legal and Marketing Update (30 Hours)
Description: This course provides information on the multitude of legal issues pertaining to the real estate industry by examining case law through history. Subjects covered include: Arbitration & Mediation, Licensee Legal Issues, Lender & Loan Legal Issues, Property Owner Legal Issues, Extraordinary Legal Issues, Probate, Foreclosure, Full Disclosure, Real Estate Purchase Agreements, and Environmental Hazards.Course Category: CP – Consumer Protection
Ethics (3 Hours)*,
Description: This course assists real estate licensees in gaining clarity in what is meant in the real estate profession by the word ethics and how that differs from real estate law. Ethics usually holds licensees at a higher standard.Course Category: E – Ethics
Agency (3 Hours)*
Description: This course is designed to provide the real estate licensee with knowledge of the laws pertaining to the relationship between the real estate licensee, other real estate licensees and the principals.Course Category: A – Agency
Fair Housing (3 Hours)*
Description: This course is designed to provide real estate licensees with knowledge of both federal and state laws that are intended to provide the widest possible housing opportunities to the widest number of people.Course Category: F – Fair Housing
Trust Fund (3 Hours)*
Description: The licensee owes a fiduciary duty to handle, control, and account for trust funds in a proper manner. This course covers the legal requirements for receiving and handling trust funds in real estate transactions.Course Category: T – Trust Fund Handling
Risk Management (3 Hours)*
Description: This course will provide the student with knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures calculated to avoid errors and omissions in the practice of real estate licensed activities, and the ability to recognize and resolve issues and appropriately handle situations that most frequently result in litigation.Course Category: RM – Risk Management

REFUND POLICY: Cancellation – A student may terminate enrollment by mailing such notice by
CERTIFIED MAIL. The effective date of cancellation is the date postmarked. Any refunds due will be made by the school within 30 days. Materials – Initial correspondence course materials shall be sent to the student within five (5) working days following receipt of the student’s enrollment, or the student may rescind the contract and shall be entitled to full refund of all monies paid. At any time during the enrollment period, this institution shall, upon written request, send all course materials paid for but not received. Such act will constitute full settlement of the school’s obligation except for Five-Day Full Refund Period. An enrollee may cancel enrollment within five working days following receipt of course materials and receive a refund of all monies paid, including registration and material fees, provided all materials are returned in an unused condition. Shipping costs may be deducted from the refund.
COURSE CONTENT / TIME LIMITS: The home study course consists of spending a minimum of 3 hours per mandatory course and 30 hours of other education reading and studying the course material, and passing a final exam. The final examination can be taken a minimum of 6 days from the date the student has had access to the course materials. The maximum time students have to complete a course is one year from the date of registration. If students fail the final examinations, they must re-enroll in the program before they can take the exams again. Students must wait a minimum of another 6 days studying the course materials after they re-enroll before they can final examinations. The re-enrollment fee will be $15.00.
INCREMENTAL ASSESSMENTS: All courses contain incremental assessments designed to properly measure a participant’s mastery of the course content. Remediation to the student will be provided along with the students personal ID for the final examination before the final examination can be taken.
FINAL EXAMINATION: The final exams are open-book and consist of 15 multiple choice questions for the mandatory courses and 70 multiple choice questions for the Legal & Marketing course. The Legal and Marketing course is separated into two (2) exams, one that is 32 questions and one that is 38 questions. Students are allowed one minute per question to complete each final exam and need to score a minimum of 70% to pass. Students may not take more than 15 credit hours of testing within a 24 hour period. Therefore, to complete all 45 hours of testing, the student must spend at least 3 different days to complete the exams. Students have a choice of taking the final exam at REVEI, with a proctor, or on the internet. Students may contact REVEI and request a convenient date and time for the final exam to be taken at REVEI. For proctored exams, students may contact REVEI and request a convenient location, date and time for the final exam and may also suggest the proctor or entity to administer the final exams. However, the final designation and approval of the final exam administrator and determination of the location date and time is the responsibility of REVEI. The exam administrator cannot be related by blood, marriage, domestic partnership, or any other relationship to the student which would influence them from properly administering the exams. Students taking the final exams on-line will be issued a unique username and password. Internet final exams can not be printed or downloaded; and the exams will automatically time-out at one minute per question hours. Under no circumstances shall the final exams be furnished directly to the students.
COURSE COMPLETION CERTIFICATES/RECORDS: Course completion certificates will be issued within 5 days of passing the final examination. Records of course completion certificates will be maintained indefinitely to allow students to receive a duplicate certificate if needed.
